High Fashion

High Fashion Modeling is the modeling of designer clothes. This is usually for print work in publications or for advertising material. The pay is very good for this type of work and prices are set by the quality of the model and by usage of the images.

 

Editorial

Editorial is modeling for magazines that will highlight next seasons trends or style. The pay is not great but the exposure is beneficial and terrific for building a model's book and for experience. Much editorial seen in Vogue, GQ, Elle, Cosmopolitan magazines.

 

Catalog

It is exactly what is sounds like, modeling for catalogs. This can be for clothing or products and the model used will meet the requirements to attract the clients target market. Pay is not as high per hour as high fashion but can be more hours and more consistent.

 

Runway

Very exciting modeling where a model wears couture clothing for designers to showcase their new collections to the press and audience in attendance. Possible high pay for top models. Pay has gone way down over the last few years. Very fast paced and a chance to get worlwide exposure.

 

Trade Show

These models go to trade shows and represent a company in booths or exhibits at shows or parties. Usually travel is required and an ability to keep a positive attitude for an entire day. Long hours and sometimes good pay.

 

Fit Modeling

This modeling is behind the scenes. It is consistent work where a model works with the designer or designer's team trying on clothes and making adjustments to the garments. This pays a good hourly wage. Also may include trying on clothes for clients.

 

Glamour

This is typically sexy modeling in either revealling clothes, swimwear , lingerie or nothing. Pay can be good and height restrictions are relaxed as physical beauty and body shape are the key importance for a glamour model. Stuff Magazine or Maxim is this style.

 

Body Parts

This catagory of modeling is when only a certain body part is shown. This is most often hands or feet, but can involve many other parts of the body. Usually no height or weight requirements are necessary.
